New publication from network members Flávia Biroli and Conny Roggeband

Network members Flávia Biroli and Conny Roggeband have published an article on gender conflicts and disputes over democracy in South America and Eastern and Central Europe. The two regions experienced the third wave of democratization and now face democratic backsliding alongside a gender backlash. Biroli and Roggeband argue that today's struggles over gender are linked to earlier "transitional moments" when feminists tried to (re)negotiate the meaning of democracy and citizenship.
